Can I cancel a booking once the ticket has been issued? Can I ask for a refund?

First, you should know that you can only cancel your booking if the ticket you have purchased allows this service. Airline tickets are subject to different conditions depending on the company you are flying with. These conditions can change depending on the class you are flying in (e.g. Economy, Business, First) and the rate at which you’ve booked. If in these restrictions the airline says you are not eligible to receive a refund, Cheap O Journey cannot reimburse you the price of your booking.

It is important to know ahead of time that the majority of budget fares, especially with the low cost airlines, do not generally permit refunds if a flight is cancelled. If the airline does have a refund policy, they most likely will charge extra for this type of service. Similarily, Cheap O Journey applies an administration fee for cancellations (on top of the fee charged by the airline). This extra charge varies depending on the type of service option you’ve selected during the booking process:

• No service option selected: £25 for any booking modification or cancellation

• Basic Service Option: £20 for any booking modification or cancellation

• Standard and Premium: Cancellation and changes free of charge (except for the fees charged by the airline)

How do I cancel my flight or get a refund?

If you need to cancel your flight, please contact us as soon as possible. You will need to provide your booking reference, so be sure to have it on hand. If your flight is scheduled to depart within the next 7 days, please call us immediately. You can find all the Cheap O Journey phone numbers and call centre opening hours here.

Once you have informed us of your need to cancel the flight, we will process the refund and send you an e-mail letting you know how much will be credited to the card you used to purchase the tickets. This credit will be automatic, however, every refund is different and depends on the type of ticket and the airline. If we need to contact the airline for a refund authorization it may take up to three months to be able to process the refund.

If your ticket is non-refundable, please ask a customer service representative about if you can claim some or all of the taxes charged when you bought your ticket.

Refunds are subject to the Travel Supplier(s)’ Policies, as the case may be. If You are eligible to be refunded according to such Policies, be informed that Your refund will be processed using the same payment method as used to pay Your order. Note that the air fares contain different elements and not all of them are refundable, so even if you are eligible to be refunded according to your travel supplier(s)’ policies, the refunded amount may not be exactly the total price paid for your booking.

You have ordered a non-refundable and unchangeable flight, and You will not be able to use it, be informed that You may claim anyway a refund for some airport taxes which are included in the air fare. In case that You wish to request the refund of the airport taxes through Cheap O Journey, You may contact our call centre services. With this request, You authorize Cheap O Journey to carry out all necessary actions on Your behalf to be refunded. Please note that the deadline for requesting the refund of these airport taxes is twelve (12) months from the date of purchase of the tickets or six (6) months from the date of the flight, if this is later. For this service, Cheap O Journey will charge You with an additional service fee of fifty euro (€50) per person, which will be deducted from the amount refunded.
